Themed Days
French Days
Each term at Beacon we hold 'French Days' for pupils in Year 1- Year 6 to enhance immersion, foster cultural understanding, motivate pupils and build foundational language skills in a fun, engaging way. these themed days allow pupils to participate in cultural activities like food and music, providing a comprehensive experience that promotes confidence, broadens horizons, and prepares them for further language learning.
Pupils in Early years (Preschool, Nursery and Reception) participate in French day 2 in Spring term where they learn about the country through continuous provision and an adult led food tasting session.

International Week
International week is held every June at Beacon Academy to foster global citizenship by increasing intercultural awareness, promoting respect for diversity, and developing international mindfulness through celebrating different languages, traditions and cultures. Activities typically include learning about a specific country's geography, art, and music, sometimes culminating in cultural events like food tasting or presentations from international visitors, providing engaging and inclusive learning experiences.
Each year group from Nursery to Year 6 study a country for 1 week and all lessons link to the Early Years/ National Curriculum Subjects.
