At Beacon Academy, we understand the importance of caring for the staff and children's mental Health. The following quote is at the heart of everything we do...
"The mental health of our children must be seen as every bit as important as their physical health." Kate Middleton (Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cambridge".)
Children in Year 3- 6 have the opportunity to interview to be a Beacon 'Mental Health Hero'. The children wear Yellow lanyards, carry a note pad and pen and have support prompt cards to support other pupils on the EY, KS1 & KS2 playground who may be:
- upset
- worried
- anxious
- angry
- lonely
Sometimes children may just need to talk to someone else.
The children work closely with the Mental Health Leader Mrs Maddison who meets with the children every 2 weeks.
